SOUNDTRACK SAMPLE

We're currently working on music for a preview of the first episode of The Mercury Men for The Onfronts. Figured I'd share a small sample.

And while we're on the subject...what's your favorite movie soundtrack? While nearly any John Williams score deserves the credit, The Empire Strikes Back in particular takes my top spot.

  1. Oh...that was great! Classic, and reminiscent of the 1950's scifi movies. Thanks for that!

  2. Let me be the one to say: f*cking bongo drums cannot be beat! And this piece is exactly the kind of music I hear in my head, most of the time!

  3. I'd say, soundtrack-wise, I'll go with Bernard Hermann for NORTH BY NORTHWEST. Ne plus ultra.

  4. I'll second North By Northwest.
The one I still listen to the most is Blade Runner. Recently, the Iron Man and Dark Knight scores were pretty good.
Also, its not movies, but the Bear McCreary scores for the new Battlestar galactica series were all amazing.

  5. Totally, TOTALLY Empire all the way. John Williams FTW!

  6. Chris, that was an amazing little sample! Sifting through my ipod, which is full of movie scores (nerd) and putting all obvious john williams aside, I will go with Alan Silvestri's score of Back to the Future and Predator.

  7. Bernard Hermann definitely produced some AMAZING scores and themes. Mentioned this over on facebook, but I'll second it here: Michael Giacchino is the best film composer working today.
