PRODUCTION DESIGN

For today's Mercury Monday post we've got our first production journal highlighting production design. If you've got a question or area you'd like to see in an upcoming production journal, post it in the comments here or on Facebook.

The production journal even got a GREAT write up from Marc Hustvedt over at Tubefilter.

UPDATE: Here's some sci-fi production design resources.

  1. Thanks for the wonderful look into the design process, Chris. I've loved seeing the clips and trailers for Mercury Men coming out, and will now be seeing the inspiration behind your design every time I watch. Can't wait for the premier of Episode 1! Keep up the great work.

  4. Awesome! The more you guys put up about this, the more excited I am to see the show.

I'd be interested in learning more about the construction process for these props and costumes, if that's something you'd be willing to talk about in future production journals.

  5. Thanks for the great feedback!

Havoc, we may just create a video tutorial on how to make the Lumiere revolver.

  7. I'm really impressed by this entry. Some great background info on design, some interesting points about where the look and feel of the series comes from.
I think I'm going to go watch it again now, it's getting me excited all-over again :)

  8. Very cool. I can not wait to see the finished product. Well you be including informational videos (like this one) on the finished DVD that you will sell?
